Language Justice

With Access Language Cooperative

Respecting the Language Rights of All People

Language Justice includes the right everyone has to communicate in the language(s) in which they can most fully express themselves, feel most comfortable, to understand and to be understood, and a commitment to creating bilingual or multilingual spaces where no language will dominate over other languages.

Workshops for Community Organizations & Unions

Language isn’t just how we talk to each other. It is a reflection of how much space we make for ourselves to be more human, for all of us to be included in the conversation and for understanding and relationships to be more important than the fast pace of work and capitalism.

In partnership with the Access Language Cooperative of New England, we offer this series of workshops that we can tailor to the needs of your organization. We can do anything from a one time workshop of 2 hours, or a series of in-depth trainings of up to 18 hours in total.

Creating these spaces is a collective effort. If we are not intentional about creating multilingual spaces based on Language Justice principles and practices, the default will almost inevitably be to the dominant language.
